Introduction.
As a Chevrolet Bolt EV owner himself, I know first-hand, how to answer some of the most frequently asked questions. Are you owner or future owner, this post is for you. Here I will answer the 17th most asked questions about the Chevrolet EV Bulator. If you have other questions that are not here, you can see, and I will send you an email. Let's get into it!
1. How Much Does IT Cost to Charge A Chevy Bolt EV?
Since 2017-2019, the bolt had a 60 kW battery. To find out how much it is for a charging car, you first need to find out how much power is worth it. At the charging station, such as Electrifier America (here in Virginia) you charge 0.31 dollars for the supplied kwch. If you multiply that 60 kW container (provided that the car can actually take a complete 60 kW), then you will get the cost of $ 18,60. If you take the house challenge (say, $ 0.11 is delivered to kWh), it would be $ 6.60. Not really the difference?
This is the main mathematics necessary to identify the cost. For the 2020 bolt, it will cost you an extra 10% due to a car having a large battery of 66 kW.
2. How fast CAN A Chevrolet Bolt EV GO?
While the bolt has a big high speed rating, it can get there pretty quickly. If you give her a hard mile, you can reach the maximum speed of 92-93 miles per hour. The feeling is strange, because, as you approach 90 miles per hour, the car wants to continue to go before ... ceases to go faster. The governor is there to prevent a too unstable car, and the tires from the rupture. For such as a small machine, it makes sense not to go faster than this top of speed.
3. How Far Can The Bolt EV GO ON SINGLE CHARGE?
One of the biggest things you must admire the bolt is his ability to pass more than 200 miles per charge. But it is not so easy. You see, cars are designed for one number (for example, bolts 238 miles), but it is based on an average of 3.9 miles per kilowatt hour. This room is largely, if you make mixed driving and do not score it on every stop light.
If you are mainly done by driving a city, you can raise this number above from 238 miles to one full charge to more than 250 miles. The opposite is true if you are going as if you were stolen it, 150 miles or less easily achieve, if too cashed at your speed.
4. Howl Long Does It Take for the Bolt to Charge to 100%?
For this example, I will talk about the version of the bolt of 60 kW. Let's start find out how long it is required at level 1, there are two settings. If you install your car for 8 amps and charge 110 volts, you can get a rate of 0.8 kW per hour and 100% at 68 hours. Switch the setting up to 12 amplifiers and charge to 110 volts, it drops to 45.5 hours. If you thought it was slow, do not worry, it gets better from here.
Switching gear to 220 volts charger, which charge for 3.3 kW, you look at 18.2 hours. Drive up to 6.6 kW, and this number becomes even further to 9 hours. If you maximize the maximum on board a 7.2 kW charging computer, and it will take only 8.25 hours.
If you find a level 3 charger that can charge the maximum speed of 54 kW on the bolts, you can reach 80% in 30-45 minutes. Complete charging about 1.5 hours.
5. How Much Does The Bolt Ev Cost Right Now?
If you read it a few months after the publication of this post, it can be outdated. Nevertheless, I will still answer you based on today's market value. Let's look at Bolt E.V. In all years does the models.
- 2017 Model Years Can Be Found for As Little AS $ 10,000- $ 11,000
- 2018 Model Years Can Be Found for As Little AS $ 13,000- $ 14,000
- 2019 Model Years Can Be Found for As Little AS $ 14,000- $ 15,000
- 2020 Model Years Can Be Found for As Little AS $ 22,000- $ 23,000
* These figures as of February 3, 2021.
6. Does the Bolt Ev Come with Any Kind of Factory Warranty That Is TransFerable to Multiple Owners?
In fact, yes, it does. Unfortunately, I had to experience the inconvenience that my car repaired a few days after that. My bolt EV had several bad cells in the package, so GM decided to replace the entire battery for $ 0.00. This is true, it was because the car was (and still there), covering under 100 to miles / 8-year parts and components of a limited warranty. This warranty comes with each EV bolt and is transmitted as many owners as possible until there is a mileage or a term.
7. CAN You use the Chevrolet Bolt for Uber or Food Deliveries?
Absolutely, this is one of the best options, there is when it comes to this work.
How I am writing it, I do this full-time in my 2017 bolt. In the city I can easily get 200 miles for charge. In a mixed driving, I can get 150-200 miles and enough for me to earn a decent income. Charging cost is tiny compared to a full gas tank. You can find out much more in a separate post, which I wrote about ReiseSharing in an EV bolt.
8. Howl Long Is the Bolt's Battery Good for?
EV batteries usually lasts a few hundred thousand miles, at least before you need to replace. Unlike gas or diesel engines that wear and break time using, batteries deteriorate over time, and their capacity.
There was an article that Eric from the news Coulungan wrote about this accurate theme. In a nutshell, he broke the carrying capacity of cars when he bought it completely new to 100 thousand miles. It shows a very small battery loss every 10-20 thousand miles. 100 thousand miles car still received 55 kWh storage. After 50,000 miles, the car began to worsen much slower and lost very little capacity for the next 50 thousand miles.
A brief answer is that several hundred thousand miles must be completed.
9. GM HAS PUT OUT A RECALL FOR MY BOLT EV, WHAT DO I DO?
General Motors is not a stranger to expel the auxiliary cars of nations. In particular, Chevrolet Bolt EV had several years that are not insignificant. Recently, they remembered the battery at all for 2017-2019 bolts due to battery chemistry defects. This problem may lead to the fact that these spectacular bolts will catch fire.
If you suffer from auxiliary time, the easiest thing you can do is go to GM and give them your car, so it can give a medicine. In the most recent auxiliary recall GM limits the charge status to 94.5%. This is their temporary correction until a constant solution can return the car at full capacity.
10. What is the Difference Between The Lt and Premier Trims?
When you compare both and prime minister, it can be easily assumed that there is no difference. However, there are several key functions that you can get with the prime minimum that you cannot with LT. Here is what you get the extra when you update the premiere:
- 17-inch Ultra Bright Machined-Aluminum Wheels
- Outside Rearview Mirror Turn Signal Indicators
- Body-Color Door Handles With Chrome Strip
- Roof Rails
- DC Fast Charge Capability
- Perforated Leather Appointed Seats
- Front and REAR OUTBOARD Heated Seats
- Silver Center Stack Trim
- Heated Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel
- HD Surround Vision.
- Ambient Interior Lighting.
- Lane Change Alert With Side Blind Zone Alert
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- REAR PARK ASIST
- REAR CAMERA MIRROR INCLUDING AUTO-DIMMING FUNCTION
- Rear Armrest
- False Cargo Floor
11. Whats of Kind of Bulbs Does The Bolt Ev Have and Whats The Size?
Chevrolet EV bolt comes with HID headlights that are very impressive at night. If you have to replace them, you just need to look for the size of the D3S lamp to make the right preparation.
Fortunately, you can match not only HID, but also give even halogens (although I do not recommend going to halogens, it's a step down).
12. WHERE IS THE CHEVY BOLT MANUFACTURED?
I am proud to say that the EV bolt is manufactured and assembled in the United States. But be specific, assembly, where all this happens is located in the city of Orion, Michigan.
13. CAN THE CHEVY BOLT EV TOW ANYTHING, IF SO, WHAT IS THE CAPACITY?
This is a difficult question, because you will receive several different answers from different sources. Let me compile them all here so that you can come to the conclusion.
According to GM: Chevrolet EV bolt has a zero towing rating.
According to the Internet and other users: you can set the coupling, which is estimated to 2,000 pounds and 300 pounds of language weight. Ecohohith seems to be a popular brand for many owners of bolts. Reviews confirm that people have success with their installations and further use.
14. What is Hill Top Reserve and Should I Use IT?
Unlike Tesla, Chevrolet bolt included the Hill top reserve mode in its power settings for power redundancy and maintains the health of the battery. According to the apparatus of the torque, you will have about 88% of the charge when the charge fell into the limit. Will it actually save your battery, this is a question. Some believe that Chevrolet reserves 2 kWh storage to slow down the degradation process.
If you do mostly urban driving, it would not be a bad idea to turn it on. City driving can usually give you a much better range than driving a highway. Instead, you can do, it turns off the Hill's upper reserve when you are doing on long journeys at the distance.
15. Why Shld I BUY A BOLT EV OVER ANY OTHER ELECTRIC CAR?
When buying electric cars, obviously, it is wise to consider your options. We say that today in 2021 Bolt EV (on the used market) is the best bank-to-beech that you can buy. From the point of view of the range there is nothing. Assessment for 238 miles on one charge, you will have to jump a few thousand dollars to get into a very used model S (from 2012 to 2013). For something newer, Nissan Leaf Plus (62 kWh option) will be almost a neck to the neck.
Good news is that electric cars are falling for the price like hot potatoes. Like more and more accessible, it will be similar to being used 10,000 dollars Toyota Corolla in a few years released.
16. How do I know if My Bolt Has A Problem with the main battery?
Unlike conventional cars, when you have a problem with the most important part of the car, sometimes there are no symptoms, with the exception of the abnormal range. Chevy Bolt EV is not a stranger to battery problems. It can be said that there is nothing abnormal when it comes to GM products, while others will say that it is acceptable, because the bolt is the first Popular electric car GM.
How I am writing this, I know first-hand symptoms of a bad battery. One of the simplest things you will notice is when the vehicle is near
Another thing to search is an abnormal range, even in ideal conditions. For me, I began to get 150 miles to empty at 100% SOC, despite the averaging of 3.5-3.7 miles per kilowatt hour. After further testing, I only received 2.0-2.1 miles for each bar, fallen on the battery (only 20 total). Multiplication 2.0-2.1 x 20 would mean that I received only 40-42 kWh capacity. I wrote a much more detailed article here that immerses deep into the release of the Chevy Bolt battery.
17. What do i do if I Have A Problem with Android Auto (Or Apple Car Play) in My Bolt?
All EV bolt at the factory are equipped with Android Auto and Apple Car Play. With an impressive 11-inch touch screen, it does for navigating the wind.
Sometimes Android Auto will not be displayed properly, for example: black screen and compressed Android Auto System display.
There are two ways to solve this problem. The first part is to simply update the Android Auto App on your phone. If the problem is still saved, go to the next step.
Go to Android automatic settings (in Appendix), go to the "O" application section and click on the 10x serial number to enable the developer mode. From there, click on the top right corner of the screen in the settings and click "Developer Settings" and change the resolution settings. If the problem is still saved, go to the next step.
You may need to upgrade the car to do this, you need to go to the car settings in the Software section, connect to the WiFi point and update the software to the latest version.
